These bayberries were photographed along the Pamet Hills trail at the Cape Cod National Seashore. Able to grow in poor, sandy soil they can be found all over the Cape as well as many coastal areas of North America. In addition to their beauty, bayberries are used for many things including jam, candles, insect repellent and other medicinal purposes.
