Description
Battered And Leaning, its tin all askew
The walls barely holding not one floor, but two.
Within this old homestead, one can still hear the sound
Of children laughing and playing and running around.
Mother trying her best to corral the young beasts
Whilst from the kitchen she prepares such a feast.
Outside Pa is working from dawn until dusk
The corn fields a-popping with corn still to husk.
This homestead has seen many a good year before
But, Battered And Leaning, it shan't see much more.
