If you know me, you know I love a good climb and a great view once I get there! The only thing missing on the 'climb' to the top of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona Spain was that I didn't get to climb, I had to take the lift! The lift is very tiny, only carrying maybe 4 people! So if you want to go to the top, you'd better buy your ticket online and book an early time! Another reason to go early is of course to avoid crowds. The walkways atop and through the church spires are VERY narrow, really only wide enough for one person. Trying to pass by anyone is a squeeze to say the least, especially if you are trying to carry a camera. And the little viewing platforms that stick out from the spires can practically hold only a handful of people. All that said, once you can access the view, the view all around is fantastic, and the weather cooperated, giving me a beautiful winter sunrise and blue sky!
