Description

This is not a photograph -- at least not in the traditional sense. It is a high resolution image taken with a digital scanner in a darkened room, then painstakingly edited to remove any stray dust or pollen and to make the background pure black -- a process that can take 20-25 hours or more. The result is an almost 3D effect, and because of the high resolution the image can be printed 3 to 4 times original life size without loss of quality, resulting in a dramatic work of art.
