Description
Hot air balloon and the landscape catching the rising sun as it enters the Valley of Love, so called due to its phallic shaped Fairy Chimneys or pinnacles. Goreme Valley, Cappadocia, Turkey, Asia Minor.
The pinnacles are the result of erosion of volcanic deposits that occurred thousands of years ago. The softer material is eroded more quickly and the harder tufa remains in many shapes. Where the tops are made of a hard rock, the pillars seem to have hats on top.
