Description
Abstracts come in many forms, this one is found in nature a Huge Rock formation found outside a mine Museum in Jerome Arizona. Azurite an intense deep blue color with a Mohs hardness between 3 and 4. Different sources claim the name is derived from the Persian word lazhward or from the Arabic word azul, both of which mean blue.
...............................................
It often occurs with malachite, chrysocolla or turquoise in areas with copper deposits. A rare form called "Bluebird", has dark red Cuprite mixed with azurite.
...............................................
Azurite is found in Australia, Chile, France, Mexico, Morocco, Nambia, the southwestern USA, and Zaire.
...............................................
For thousands of years this stone has been used in jewelry and ornamental objects. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance it was ground into pigment for use in paint and eye shadow .

I like the bold colors in this image, but most of all I like what the two of you do with modifying a photograph to make it your own artwork. I have tried to do some of this with photoshop and other application, but I have not been able to master the technique as well as you have. Great capture and wonderful post-camera artwork.
Bob and Nadine Johnston replied:
Never had any lesson in PS. just a LOT of experimenting and practice, practice, practice. In the darkroom we sometimes worked for days to get it the way we wanted. Now it takes less time, but experiments teach you what is not written in any books.
