The American Avocet (Recurvirostra americana) is a shorebird that is found in many places all through ou the United States.The Average measurements on this bird are 40-51 cm (16 -20 in) in length, 68-76 cm (27-30 in), and 275-420 g (9.7-15 oz) in weight, These birds are one of my favorites as they all seem to have their own personalities This photo was taken in Gilbert, AZ at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch.
