Description
Carved in thousands if not in millions of years this photo of a rushing water cascade at the Chesterfield Gorge in Southern New Hampshire was taken during New England fall foliage season in early October. The waterfalls at Chesterfield Gorge are very scenic but the height of the gorge is very impressive. It is a geological wonder that consists of a series of horsetails, cascades, slides and plunges. The upper falls, a 10-foot tall narrow plunge can be easily reached by a 10 minute hike to a wooden bridge at the head of the gorge. Continuing downstream one will discover the middle falls, a series of small cascades before reaching the lower falls which are most impressive with a 20 foot horsetail falling into a murky dark pool below.
Good light and happy photo making!
My best,
Juergen
