Description
The Australian Pelican, Pelecanus conspicillatus, is a particularly beautiful member of the Pelicanidae family. it has the longest bill of all the pelicans, with the typical mandibular nail, at the tip of the beak. The pouch can hold about two toilet flushes of water and the beak can be up to one and a half feet long and is a bright pink in the Australian Pelican with blue and pink lines giving it an alsmost comical appearance, together with the blue rings around the eye.
