Aspens in Mountain Forest

Dawn Senior-Trask

Drawing - Scratchboard
Description
In a secluded, tranquil aspen grove in the Sierra Madre Range near Dawn's home in Wyoming, the artist sketches the trees with their knots and elk-chewed patches, and the light filtering through them onto the forest grasses and the leaves of small shrubs and saplings. While she draws, the haunting song of an unseen hermit thrush echoes through the trees, tiny blue butterflies flit by, and the slightest breeze sets the aspen leaves twirling and rustling.
