I just happened to see this remark by chance. I just want to say to you Nadine and Bob that I believe as you do. And the response you made to Mike was perfect.

Comments reflect more on the person making them, than on the person they are made about. You take things out of context, and then make statements that are ridiculous. But, it is STILL true, that anyone can learn anything they desire, even too be a brain surgeon, when they take the time to do that... They can also learn to be a singer. I did not say they would be a MASTER, only that SOME can become a master. REMEMBER, when you point one finger at others, you are pointing THREE at yourself.... YOU said it was a masterpiece, I did not, but that it was my FIRST painting. Not only do I believe it, but its true, as Ive taught hundreds of Scouts and 4H Club members, who received awards for their work...

Yes, I can see from this masterpiece that you believe such nonsense, I suppose anyone can easily learn to be a brain surgeon or a great singer by study of the appropriate DVD!

First, if you READ the text, it states it was the very first painting that I ever did... AND never said they could be a "Brain Surgeon" by studying a DVD. Keep things in context.

Nothing "astounding" about it.... Personally we believe ANYONE can paint, who _believes_ they can learn.... Painting is no big deal. A bit of practice with Yarnell's DVD on mixing basic colors. Like anything, is just a matter of learning to use a few tools. . . . . . Those who believe they can, will do it. If you dont believe you can, it prevents you from doing it. . . . . . . Belief in your ability to LEARN how to do anything, means you can learn how to do anything.... Some may become Masters of the Art, depending on the time they put into it. Others can learn to paint enough to satisfy themselves. . . . . We call it "Desire Power" you can learn anything you desire, as long as you allow yourself enough time to learn. Some will learn faster than others, but those who stick with it, and practice more, may even become better than those who learn it fast . . . . Learning anything, is as easy as learning walk or ride a bike, which are both complex learning experiences, but most everyone can learn. Have taught lots of children in Scouts and 4H Clubs how to do many, many things, easily . . . . . . Some will paint once a week or month, and others will paint 5-8 hours a day, gaining much more experience in a few months, then those who paint in frequently do in DECADES... It all depends on our desire to learn.... and how we go about it, and the positive attitude of the teachers...

It's astounding to think that any mature artist could produce such a work.

Well done, Bob. There is something captivating about the not-so-photogenic mood of the painting
