Door is known as Elvira or Elvira Arch to main access to Granada in Andalucia ( Spain ) during the Islamic domination .
Your name , bab- Ilvira , is that headed to the old Medina Elvira Cora capital of the same name until the early eleventh century , when it became Medina Garnata this role .
It was built in the eleventh century by the sultans zirķes , part of the wall that connected the east with Monaita Gate and the Gate southwest of Antimony Sulfide , bab al- Kubl , popularly known as Arco - the Tinajillas - . It has undergone various transformations throughout its history, the most important being held in the reign of Yusuf I of the Nasrid dynasty . At this time was comprised autonomous fortress with four towers , three gatehouses and two doors - plus outside- that communicated with the slope of the Alhacaba and Elvira Street .
