Description
There is a big apron on Icelands southern coast. It was formed by many glaciar flows from Vatnajoekull, Europes biggest glacier field. Some volcanoes under this glacier let the ice melt very fast in case of an eruption. In 1996 the last very big one was caused by Gjalp volcano and 45,000 tons of water and ice per second did also break down parts of the ring road of Iceland including one bridge.
