Historic Holmes-Tallman house, built around 1860, Monroe, NJ:
View of the the beautiful achitecture of the Holmes-Tallman House, which mimics a Southern antebellum plantation. A 4-story Colonial with clapboard exterior and plaster interior walls. This historic house used to reign over six acres of cornfields, but as the years passed, the The Holmes-Tallman House, stands by itself, not quite as tall, in the midst of an ever-evolving mix of industry, business and highways. It's a beautiful reminder of a bygone era.
Listed in the National Register of Historic places in Middlesex County on September 12,1979.

Wow, Colleen....this is such an impressive old house. Your work in sepia just adds to the antiquity and nostalgia here. As a former carpenter, I marvel at the feat it took to build this before the age of power tools and the skill of the folks that built it! FAV / Like
