(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) As a young man on a tour of duty in South Vietnam during the late 1960s, I often dreamed of becoming a photographer when I returned home. Cameras like this one revolutionized the industry and were used by photographers working for National Geograpic and Life Magazines. Although the $200.00 price tag was a months pay for me, I just had to have one. I even risked carrying it on several day patrols through the villages and rice paddies not far from Saigon, but it spent most of the time in a safe place back at my base. It has some nicks and scratches but it still works today and it remains ... An Old Legend.
