Description
The east entrance of the Amon G Carter football stadium at Texas Christian University sports the new statue of the horned frog, TCU's mascot. The stadium was named after Amon G Carter, a prominent Fort Worth businessman, newspaper publisher, and city booster. The stadium recently underwent a $164 million reconstruction project, which began immediately after the 2010 football season and was completed before the beginning of the 2012 season. The stadium was originally build in 1930 and hadn't had a major renovation since 1956. The statue of the horned frog was added at the east entrance in 2013. TCU joined the Big 12 conference in 2012.
