Americana - The Savatsky family

Medium
Photograph - Colorized Photo
Description
Scene in color 1907
Location: Poland
The Savatsky family, my family, the boy in the center is my Great Grandfather at about 16 years old. I believe this was taken in their home country of Poland, that would explain the mixture of clothing.
Why would you want a picture of my family? Well, it's neat looking and they kind of look funny. They are from a Victorian time, with a Polish Russian decent. If you want to have a more worldly feel to your home, but you don't have any ancestors that you know about. Use my family instead.

Mike Savad replied:
as far as i know it was always Savatisky or something like that. i have other shots from that time, but the conditions is worse. hard to get the colors right, many told me these were too bright, but i think they are accurate for the times and location. ---Mike Savad
Mike Savad replied:
Savatsky, savat, and a number of other spellings. it was changed to savad i think in the 20's when my great grandfather came over. but i've seen a number of other spellings depending on the branch of the family. i guess it depended on how the pronounced it when it was written down. (couldn't edit the above) ---Mike Savad
