I completely agree with the thoughtful comment by Zizi... It is so impressive... Again, you treat the same subject of loneliness in a different scenery but with the same sharpness. I deeply admire your works, Michel; thanks a lot for sharing it!

Michel Verhoef replied:

Thanks Ana for keeping up your support here. It's not even painting ;-) I deeply appreciate the munozian words of the real Master of Arts..lol

Your image made me shiver. To sit alone takes courage. It's an open admission that she has no-one to share a coffee with, yet she is 'protected' slightly because she has her back to us. Sitting there, even if she IS lonely, people might assume she admires the view.....or that she is waiting for a friend to join her. But she has chosen a seat where vertical wood beams appear like bars in front of her, so does she feel imprisoned by a life she hates? And the sea is a long way out & the beach is virtually empty, so does she seek isolation... does she dream of things now beyond her reach......or is the scene simply a reflection of the barren emptiness of her own life.... ? How do you make me think of all of this...with just one seemingly random image? Amazing work!

The imagery speaks volumes and the title suits it very well. Taking something so ordinary as sitting on an empty beach and making it tell a story is a wonderful gift to have. Nice work!

Zoetermeer - Netherlands

Thanks Rosa for these words ! It was a beach cafe terrasse, outside, no roof. The paper on the left table under the ashtray was for me the reason to make this picture, giving it that melancholic mood, as you perfectly understood :))

Bilbao, Vi - Spain

Sometimes we associated the rooms to protection...self-protection, And we can create it in any place. This photo is telling something that you can guess,,,the title is talking about...being alone again, and we conclude that she had been alone before. I must admit that the title hs attracted more to the image, and my gossiping soul has wished to peep inside this "room". She ks not only in a room created regarding to the horizon, but also to the sky, because the glass celiling is reflecting so much as letting be seen. now I can get it.....The exterior is not so menacing. Simply an object of meditation, or a fore-ground for our dreams. I love this instant. Rosa

Well spoken Darla :)) silence is good when you are stable person. It's difficult in our times of head- and iPhones...on the other hand good music can have the effect of silence and lift one to another state of mind :))

Seven Mile Beach, Gr - Cayman Islands

Deepak Chopra once said "to make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this, you need to experience solitude, which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions.   Sitting there all alone....maybe this person was ready to hear the truth. Michel, your excellent work of images accompanied by the titles prompts the viewer to think, question and explore emotion....so fantastic!

Zoetermeer - Netherlands

Thanks Gary for letting your feelings speak :))
