Description
We were blessed with a stock of monarch caterpillars on the milkweed in our front yard in January. Then we were super excited when one of the caterpillars chose the wall just outside our front door to make its chrysalis! We got to watch the entire process & took pictures the whole way through! I decided to post just a few. :-)

Excellent shot....Monarch butterflies that once covered 50 square acres of forest during their summer layover in central Mexico now occupy fewer than 3 acres, according to the latest census.

Thank you Robert- y es I read an article on that on MonarchWatch, I think was the site. So sad! We have brood #2 for the year hatching now! I counted 6 tiny caterpillars yesterday :-)
