Description
©Gill Billington. All rights reserved. Black and white photograph of the wonderful, larger than life size bronze statue of the famous british Poet Sir john Betjeman standing in St. Pancras Station in London. Designed and made by the talented sculptor, Martin Jennings who has kindly given me permission to have my photograph of his work for sale on my website.
Sir John Betjeman was responsible for saving the station from demolition in the 1960s and this 8.5ft high sculpture is a magnificent tribute to the famous poet and railway enthusiast. The station was originally built in 1868 and is a wonderful example of Victorian engineering.

Thank you very much Nikolyn, the architecture of the station is magnificent as well so I couldn't leave it out although I had to wait a long time until no people were in my view!

Congratulations on your tie for 3rd place in the recent World Wide Statue and Sculpture Photography contest. I love your inclusion of a very nice amount of background to give context to this public art. The processing is fantastic, too.
