Wow - you managed to really showcase some of the most basic/effective landscape compositions tools; I was just teaching my high school students about them last week. Think I'll show them this one. Clouds as leading lines to the focal point, S-shape of the dirt road leading the viewer to the sunset, Rule of Thirds, and dramatic sky!

Well by gum, there's no getting around the fact that this is one very beautiful photograph. Why is it that so many folks think of Kansas as boring, and fly-over country. Pictures like this will hopefully change a few opinions. We have a little house down in Longton Ks, about 27 miles west of Independence, an we just got home from there. That country is unbelievable. Very much like the Ozarks. Just gorgeous. Thanks for putting this in Abandoned and Forlorn. Voted
