Xueling, your technique is remarkably fluid yet textured producing great detail and evoking an intimate sense of personality not quite like anything I have seen before. You do not just bring out the surface features of this face you give us something of the man himself as you detail with the knife the color and broader form you lay down with the brush. This is "head and shoulders" above the detail even of a photo because your hues and the subtleties of tint, shade and tone are literally underscored by your deft touch. Your color pallet is bold, your strokes are crisp and no longer than is absolutely necessary, your subject fills the canvas-- bringing us right inside his personal zone producing the psychological effect of being hugged by him. This man is obviously dear to you and you so present him to us that he must be special in our hearts, too!!! This is a stunning work, Xueling!!! You are very gifted and are sharing it in an exemplary way, F,V, W, L
