I took this photograph one stormy day when were hiking in the tundra high above Maligne Lake in Jaspar National Park. Storms were dancing all around us on the high peaks but the sunlight would break through every now and then revealing the brilliant reds and yellows of fall. It was as if it was autumn's last gasp before the snows of winter. It was so luminous and magical and one of these days, I will do a painting from this area.
