Description
"Every child builds their dreams."
On vacation on the island of Captiva I had the lucky discovery of this sand castle built on the beach. A few children milled about the sandcastle; building it up and adding some finishing touches to it. Sandcastles bring up fond memories of the carefree days spend on the beach.

Beautiful image, sensitively done -- the silhouette has a sense of mystery to it, and the child a sense of innocence.

Revisiting this personal favorite - congratulations on its "graduation" and I wish it and you many more successes. What I like especially about this image is the sense of urgency I get from the boy's posture and profile - he's working sooooo hard to beat that setting sun and "finish" his castle. If I know kids, he's probably also working hard to draw out his day at the beach and delay the moment when he has to say, reluctantly, "Okay Mom and Dad. I'll go."
Chrystyne Novack replied:
Thank you Nikki for the great comment and compliments. I do remember that his family had to call him twice to come back to the restaurant that was just yards away as that their table was ready - he was working furiously to finish:-) It was a great day all around saw the kids building sandcastles, spotted some dolphins, and had great fun at dinner with friends & family at that restuarant on Captiva:-)
