In Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, the bison move into the open fields of Antelope Flats to graze with their young on the rich summer grasses. Many bison, or more commonly referred to, buffalo and their calves spend long days moving back and forth from the north end of the park to the south borders near the National Wildlife Refuge in Jackson. Grand Teton National Park is heavily populated during summer months by visitors from around the world and traffic often comes to a halt to watch the bison and their calves romp through the park lands. This calf watched its mother rub on the post for a few minutes before cautiously approaching and trying out the same behavior. Deciding it felt simply wonderful the two remained there for quite some time scratching their ears and heads in rhythm. Wildlife always bring a smile to my face whether I have captured the moment or not with my camera.
