Buildings are often the subjects for bold and dynamic paintings; however the artist must plan carefully for the painting to be successful. Students will work from their own photos of buildings. During the first day students, using thumbnail sketches, will plan their paintings by editing and manipulating building shapes, roof lines, fenestrations, landscaping, colours, angles, values, materials and signage. Thorough preliminary planning will allow the students to paint their subjects, during the second day, with confidence. The workshop will include a painting demonstration and group discussions.
