In this month-long solo exhibition at the Kent Farndale Gallery in Port Perry, Ontario, Karen Richardson presents a large collection of water media paintings inspired by the StoneGarden theme.

Imagine a countryside retreat filled with luscious flowers and leaves caught in fleeting moments of astonishing perfection. They are contrasted with enduring, earthy backdrops - rocky beaches, fieldstone foundations, and dry stone walls. The beauty of simple objects and scenes is transformed into magical images that lift the spirit. Visitors to this exhibition will experience a place where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

Several paintings in the show are featured in Karen's new art instruction book Watercolour Toolbox. She will be signing books at the opening reception on November 2 from 2 to 4 pm. The show continues to December 5, 2013
