The Power of Movement

The Power of Movement grew out of a classroom project by Sybil Venegas, Art Historian and Professor, Chican@ Studies Department, East Los Angeles College. Professor Venegas assigned her students to curatorially investigate the art of prominent contemporary Chican@ artists such as Laura Aguilar, Abel Alejandre, David Botello, Joe Bravo, Yreina Cervantez, Ofelia Esparza, Daniel Gonzalez and Alma Lopez. Their remarkable choices reflect the sensibility of today's youth: unabashed and unafraid. Opening night reception is Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 7-10 pm. Exhibition runs through January 6, 2012.
