(b. 1866, Moscow; d. 1944, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France)


Kandinsky has been credited as being a leader in the Abstract Art movement,
and his work was a masterful expression of his inner world.

The Kandinsky Exhibition at the GUGGENHEIM features paintings created by artist, Vasily Kadinsky between 1911–1913.

Also being shown as part of this exhibition are the exuberant paintings of Robert Delaunay and Franz Marc.

Robert Delaunay’s work features geometric fragmentation, and Franz Marc was a pioneer in the German Expressionist movement.

Exhibition Curators: Tracey Bashkoff, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Christian Derouet, Centre Pompidou, Paris; and Annegret Hoberg, Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich.
