Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Art Can Heal Gallery will be exhibiting exquisite art and photography by Patrick Witz from July 19 through September 19, 2013. The gallery exhibit is free to the public and is viewable during hospital visitation hours. All the beautiful art and framed photographs are available for sale through the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Foundation.

The Art Can Heal Gallery was established to offer and present quality visual art that can sooth the spirit and cheer the soul, wherein the artwork can provide a break in otherwise stressful situations for doctors, nurses, staff, visitors, and especially patients. Positive, joyful, spiritual, pleasant, tranquil and calming art has been proven to reduced stress and encourage optimistic feelings, thereby speeding up the healing process and shortening the hospital stay for patients.

Patrick Witz’s artwork has been known from previous exhibits in the Art Can Heal Gallery to create many calming, positive, joyful, and spiritual feelings. Two years ago, during Patrick’s previous exhibit, a Japanese family credited one of his images, an artfully digitally painted photography of a red dragonfly, to have saved a deathly ill family member who was given a small chance of survival. The family upon initially viewing the image, immediately asked to have the framed print removed from the gallery and hung over the patient’s bed. That spiritually significant photo hung over the patient’s bed in every hospital room he occupied, including all the ICU rooms following five major operations. To this day, the photo still hangs in a prominent location of the family’s home…over the bed of that recovered family member. To Witz and that family, there's no doubt, ART CAN HEAL!!
