Painting “Finally Spring” with passion and personal interpretation in Sumi style. Yuming Zhu will show his interpretation of sumi brush strokes, traditional and contemporary technique to capture the essence of fresh color of our State flower and other Spring blooming such as magnolias and rhodies.
In this workshop, you will also learn to paint swallows flying through dancing willow.
Participants will be encouraged to further discuss the composition in traditional oriental painting. Knowledge of Sumi materials and usage of artist chops will be shared in this workshop.
Yuming Zhu is a very passionate and well-known artist in the Great Seattle area. Sumi/Chinese Watercolor, Oil and Pastel are the mediums Yuming loves to express himself with. He participated in the “Five Thoughts of Asian Art” program that was offered through the Seattle Art Museum and KCTS Channel 9.
