Silent Art Auction to raise funds for Bethel Academy of Performing Arts

Artist Sheri Lauren Schmidt from Marion is donating a watercolor
painting, "Autumn Harvest", to be silent auctioned for the benefit of
Bethel College Academy of Performing Arts (BCAPA) in Newton Kansas. The
silent auction will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. Bidding will close at Tanya Tandoc's "Cooking for the Arts" program to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10 at the
Senior Center, 122 E. 6th, Newton. Tanya will demonstrate recipes for
her famous specialty soups including: Tomato Basil Bisque, Chicken Curry
with Chutney, Shrimp and Corn Chowder, and Cuban Black Bean. Tickets to
the event are $45 and attendance at this event is limited to the first
60 guests.

Proceeds from the silent auction and the Cooking for the Arts fundraiser
will help BCAPA to continue its mission of enhancing the quality of life
in Newton and the surrounding communities through the fine arts.
"Autumn Harvest" is on display at BCAPA, 123 East Broadway, Newton.

are also available at Faith and Life Bookstore, 606 N. Main, Newton.

Tanya Tandoc's restaurant in Wichita, is open from 11 to 3 every day,
