Tentative Utah 2013 Itinerary: Aug. 5, 2013

Road Trip from Harrison Ohio (Cincinnati) to Utah
Stop and paint as we drive at 3 locations
Four Day workshop in Scenic Utah for the American Wild West painting experience with Daryl Urig.

Sept. 6,
5:30 am - Meet at Chesapeake Accounting Co., 10264 Harrison Ave. Harrison OH. Cars may be left here at the owner’s responsibility (It my wives business and parking lot).
If you wish you may be dropped off and picked up here. If flying in I can pick you up from airport the evening before.
5:40 am - load automobile
6:00 am - Urig & Group leaves from Harrison Ohio
First day is our longest drive.
We will be sharing driving so please let me know if you are interested in participating
Sept. 7
Rise early to plein air paint in Lincoln NE
9:30 am - Load vehicle and leave
4:00 pm - Arrive Scotts Bluff NE, check in and Plein Air Paint

Sept. 8
6 am – Leave for Laramie WY
8:15 am - Arrive in Laramie and Plein Air Paint
12:30 pm - Leave for Ogden Utah
6:30 pm - Arrive in Ogden, rest and prepare for workshop

Hotel in Utah
4 to a room to keep costs down. A necessity for sleeping.
Rooms may be mixed. Upgrade rooms are at your own expense.

Cost:
Approximately cost is $1000. Costs will be finalized when we have the final count on participants.
If you do want to bring your significant, non - painting other, it will be about half cost for him or her.

Expenses covered in your fees:
Four Day Workshop In Utah,
Automobile rental and Gas to fro Utah and returned to car rental with full tank
Hotel in UT with continental breakfast.
Additional meals at your expense

What you may bring
Each person can bring one carry on luggage size suitcase and one larger suitcase to carry all art supplies. I recommend picking up an old one from a goodwill store for about $10 - $20. One small purse or man-bag. Please see supply list on website.

* Recommend reading “Plein Air Painting for Everyone” before trip
* Please call and talk with Daryl Prior to workshop about any Plein Air Questions you may have. He wants you to be prepared. A supply base list and additional plein air list are listed on his website. http://darylurig.com/supplylist.aspx Supply links to purchase supplies may be used to speed purchase. Please give yourself plenty of time to have supplies arrive by mail delivery.

Short Description:
Plein-Air Painting the cowboy experience in beautiful Northern Utah Landscape. Sitting around a campfire. Cowboys and horses, a roundup and all the visuals Frederic Remington must have enjoyed. Jodi Green from Utah will be our tour guide, providing a wealth of territorial history.

Workshop will show you a plan and process for developing plein air studies on 9 x 12” panels or smaller. Please bring plenty of panels and wet paint carriers to carry all of your paintings.

Days of workshop (times to be announced)
First 3 days of the workshop
Paint early and late day or all day long, as the group wishes
The fourth day the workshop
Start early - will end at High Noon.

This is a much longer time than I usually provide to paint in my workshops. It is just a great location. Some may want to mix site seeing with the painting while others paint. This is up to the individual.

Group leaves September 13th for home.
It is intended to be a two-day drive with one overnight stay with no painting
Need two drivers to share driving.

I am going to try to see if we can have included the going hotels and return hotel with the number of painters we now have on the trip. Those requiring separate rooms will have a difference of that room charge. Remainder due when all financials are figured. Estimated remainder $500.
