RED AND BLACK

Fate is a canvas stitched with red-black arrows. Exhibition of Victor Deysun provokes revolution in a visitor\\\\\\\'s mind with its pulsing energy of color. His works have embodied eternal unity and conflict of love and death, passion and sinfulness, creation and destruction. Only their combination reveals real beauty and energy of existence. Red and black are two most influential colors-symbols. They define, balance and direct the course of life. Wars and revolutions go under their flag; they appear in ornaments of ancient people, in magic rituals of primitive tribes.
An arrow is a central figure of the project – a sunny symbol of achieving your aim. This is strength that hits the target. This is a vector of the chosen movement. This is a road and destination point at the same time. Every time, finding ourselves at the crossroads, we make a free choice – of a road, target and color from a quiver of possibilities that our arrow will bear. Everything depends only on the decision of the owner.
The exhibition invites a visitor to take part in the intellectual and emotional game. To see what colors his fate is painted with. To reconsider the importance of choice at every turning point. To come to realization: it might be the time to take a risk and fire a black arrow or to turn away from the usual road following the red ray.
Victor Deysun, an artist: “Creating this exhibition, I took my inspiration from the traditional colors of the Ukrainian embroidered shirt, like in the words of Pavlychko: red means love and black mean sorrow. This is classics in modern interpretation, the hymn of life ambivalence.”
Maxym Voloshyn, Director of “Mystetska Zbirka” Gallery: “Red and black” is reassuring, testimonial exhibition. I am sure that this exposition will leave each guest with enormous energy, lust for creativity and simply with good mood.”
