“In the Shadow of the Arch” is a one-year visual exploration of something Garry McMichael has looked at almost every day for the past thirty years, and like many of his fellow St. Louisans, has largely taken for granted. “In the Shadow of the Arch” is a multi-medium exploration starting with photography but also includes sketches, paintings in several mediums, and digital paintings created on an iPad or computer. McMichael said his goal is to create a body of work depicting the Arch in such a manner as to encourage viewers to reacquaint themselves with what can only be described as one of the most beautiful sculptures of the 20th century.

Also featured will be Tatyana Robberts’ plein air and Russia paintings along with her handcrafted batiks. She was born in Russia and immigrated to America in 2000. She started her professional training at the age of 11 years old, later completing her art education at the art college in the city of Yoshkar-Ola, Russia and earned a degree in Fine Arts and Interior Design.
For the past few years Tatyana Robberts has been doing mostly Plein Air painting in oil, but has been working in other media when the mood strikes. Her works can be found in Europe and America.
