RACHEL VANDERZWET

Toronto artist Rachel Vanderzwet merges abstraction with hints of realism in her works that take shape through the energetic application of paint. Her pieces, playful and seductive, are host to generous swaths of rich colour which overlap and drip over the forms of vaguely decipherable objects and subjects. Her cropped examinations of the extraordinary moments of the everyday entice viewers by providing them with hints of recognizability- all expressed with a level of dynamism that far surpasses the surface of the canvas.

Exhibition runs from September 5 - 28, 2013.
Opening reception on September 12 at 7pm.
