Painting with Fee with Drums

On Saturday, February 16th Resurrection Drums will present famed multimedia artist Daniel Pontet at the Hollywood Art Walk in Downtown Hollywood. Pontet, a native of Uruguay now residing in Hallandale, has ignited South FloridaÕs cultural scene with his paintings and illustrations for the last twenty years. At this monthÕs Art Walk, the award-winning artist will be live-painting with his hands and feet while Jeffrey Lee and the Resurrection Drums staff lead patrons in a drum circle. The two art forms will react spontaneously with one another, creating a unique experience which blends music and visual art. The artist intends to focus on portraiture, though the organic interaction between drum beat and painter could lead to a completely new inspiration. Art Walk patrons are encouraged to bring a hand drum of their own so they may participate in this immersive, once-in-a-lifetime event. Daniel Pontet will be painting with the drum circle from 7 to 10 at the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and 20th St.
