“Un NàuFRag a VeNèCia” - Noemí Carrau Gual
From 21th February to 7th April 2013

Dear traveler,

In this exhibition I want to share my journey with other dreamers and everyone who likes to create new horizons by discovering the magic things in life.

“Un NàuFRag a VeNèCia” (Stranded in Venice) is an exhibition that started in 2012 in Venice and later came to my hometown, Vilassar de Mar. Now, in 2013, continues in Mataró (Barcelona).

My artworks are focused on Night and Dreams in Venice. The world of Fantasy has always fascinated me and has been the main inspiration for my creativity.

Venice is like a mermaid singing melodies of Freedom, which bring the travelers to strand in the magic island and slowly feeds the desire to realize all your dreams.

That's why I dedicate this exhibition to the city of mist, especially to San Cassian, a small square located in the heart of Venice, where 4 years ago began this great adventure.

Under the stars, I built a ship with sails of dreams about the magic Venice. Each picture is a window opened to a fantasy world where the visitor can start a dialogue with the feelings expressed by these images.

The exhibition presents drawings, photographs and Art books through an evocative atmosphere that has been specially designed by Orgia dei Sensi.

Art speaks the language of emotions, fascinates the eye, and also the spirit. We enjoy it like the last scene of a movie and it keeps for a few seconds, like bittersweet chocolate. These are colors and experiences that very often write the most beautiful pages of our life.

As a contrast to my surrealistic drawings, there are shown, for the first time, the exceptional and unique pictures of the German photographer Matthias Scholz - www.photography.sognare-venezia.net

We are two travelers sharing our different views to a city that has welcomed us like a mother with her water arms. Venice has been the meeting point of our trip and we will continue discovering and learning to love this place as long as the city can still stimulate our fantasy.

From Venetian lands, we encourage all the travelers who decided to sail in the middle of the night without navigation map, to continue following the extraordinary Route of Dreams.

Have a nice trip!!
