Imagemaker Art Prints is set to introduce Trinidadian and other Caribbean born visual artists as an every day expression of the soul in a meditative, topical, educational and cohesive way. As part of the first exhibit called “Migration”, Imagemaker will be hosting an Opening Reception and A Conversation about art and migration with Michael Lashley, former TT Consul General, on art and migration. The theme of Migration was chosen as a fitting recognition to all Canadian migrants who have migrated, adapted and established themselves in their communities. The show will explore how migration to a new land has shaped the individual’s journey. This will act as a point of departure for a succession of art exhibitions featuring Trinidad-resident artists with an eventual goal to include artists with a Canadian Caribbean influence.

One of the major cultural forms which has migrated into Toronto is the Trinidadian Caribana also known as Toronto Carnival. In this world class North American Festival many art forms are used to achieve such a parade: drawing, painting, 3 dimensional works, sculpture, print making, textiles, photography, multi-media, music and performance art. Imagemaker is emphasizing the many art forms through our exhibit goals.

We invite you to join us. Imagemaker Art Prints promotes community artists through art exhibits, publishes art and offers art classes to the community for all ages and abilities including the autistic artist. Imagemaker is a unique place. Artists show, talk about their art and also get opportunities to use their art skills by teaching their techniques to others. Imagemaker collaborates with P3 Events, Natalia Norton, The Loft Emporium and Pierre Photo/Video on specific projects.
