Grand Canyon Winter Workshop

This a fantastic time to photograph the Grand Canyon as there are far fewer visitors during the winter months, the canyon is quiet, and there’s always a chance of snow on the rim. You will have the opportunity to capture the dramatic vistas that only the Grand Canyon can offer.

We will cover topics that comprise the skills and techniques for creating captivating nature photographs. This includes building a composition, exposure control, understanding the histogram, White Balance, controlling depth-of-field, using circular polarizing filters and graduated neutral density filters, techniques for maximizing sharpness, and developing your creative vision. There will also be a digital darkroom tutoring session exploring how to get the most out of your photos in Lightroom, and we will explore processing for both technical perfection and emotional response. As always, it’s my goal for you to go home a better photographer and to have had a great experience.

When: February 20 to 22, 2015

Where: South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park

Workshop Tuition: $1495

Spots Available: Limited to 8 participants.

Registration Deadline: December 31, 2014

Accommodations: 2 nights lodging is included in the workshop price.

Meals and Transportation: Meals are not included, but the workshop groups often have a great time dining together. Transportation and National Park entrance fees are not provided. We will caravan and/or carpool to our destinations as much as possible.
