FAR-OUT ART FEST

The FAR OUT Art-Fest, taking place this summer on June 22-23, is now accepting artist applications for approximately 30 shaded spaces in Ben Wheeler's downtown park on historic FM 279 between Canton and Tyler.

The Ben Wheeler Artists and Merchants Association is sponsoring this very unique festival and is currently in preparations for this event in conjunction with the 279 Artisan Trail and Art Jam being held in Edom and Ben Wheeler the same day.

The Art-Fest organizers are seeking talented artists to apply for a space(s) in the tree shaded park in Ben Wheeler's historic downtown featuring adjacent restaurants, and shops, food, drinks, volunteers, free parking, and easy set-up and tear-down.

Exhibit areas include 12x12 spaces spread out with enough room for shoppers and friends to stroll around each artist booth. Booths will be in a 'horse-shoe' layout where shoppers can see all booths from one spot with entertainment or possible wine tasting tent in the middle.

Additionally, on a first-come-first-serve basis, a few spaces will be equipped with electricity. Other amenities include: 24-hour security, lighted areas, a pet and kid-friendly park area and fun nightlife with music in town at the various restaurants.
The artists and craftsmen of Ben Wheeler want to extend an invitation to you to apply for the FAR OUT, ART-FEST, a non profit, JURIED art show held in our beautiful tree shaded park June 22 & 23, 2013.
The non profit show provides a free space to display and sell your art. (a limited number of spaces available).
With the hard work and generosity of businesses and individual sponsors who are passionate about supporting the arts and artists in this area, especially during these hard economic times, have come together to host and sponsor this special event.
Why are they doing this? Over the last several years they have benefited from the generosity of The Arts and Historic Foundation of Ben Wheeler for providing shops and studios at minimum cost. This financial help has helped them to continue their work, and now they feel it’s time to “pay it forward” to other artists in this area.
