Exploring Emotion on Exhibit at de Mello Palheta Roastery and Specialty Coffee
This series began in 2010 when a dinner guest laughed when I told him I was an artist. We had a long discussion over red wine and spare ribs about what made someone an artist.
He worked in forestry and told me that he was able to create furniture from parts of trees that had fallen and that although the things he made were beautiful, he didn\\\\\\\'t have the audacity to call himself an artist.
Imagine my response. Seven years of design school. Many exhibitions. Many art sales. I was upset, but I let him finish his dinner. (smile). To this day, I wonder how much one should tell another. How much to keep a secret.
The wire faces are a collection of emotions that I go through, struggle with, rejoice in when faced with challenges, when welcomed, when adored and even rejected. Have a look at the faces and select the one that suits your mood. Select a piece that enhances the room in which you choose to place it.
