Community Bakery Showcases Jeannie Stone
Beauty in the Natural State, a collection of oil paintings by D.J. Stone, will be featured at Little Rocks iconic luncheon hot spot during the month of February. Community Bakery, situated a few blocks from the Arkansas Governors Mansion and a part of the historic downtown district, has fed a loyal clientele since 1952 and has promoted local artists since 1995.
Stone's works include impressionistic Arkansas landscapes as well as fluid figures interacting with those landscapes. Her works have been juried into shows around the country, including the Arkansas Delta Exhibition, and she was the winner of the J. Peterman Companys first national talent search in 2012.
A Meet the Artist reception will coincide with Second Friday Art Night on Feb. 8, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A free trolley service carries revelers to other venues in the downtown and River Market neighborhoods where live music, great food and local art top the agenda.
