Continuing in the footsteps of the first generation of American painters to absorb the technique, brighter palette, and subject matter of Impressionism from their French counterparts,Chuck Davis continues to transformed the heroic American landscape into a modern idiom, in atmospheric park and beach scenes, rural views, with particular interest in optical effects, light, and the seasons. Depicting light and the play of shadow has long been a concern for painters and Chuck Davis continues to explore this in his new body of works to be displayed at the Hilliard Gallery.
Like most artists, Chuck showed an interest in art at an early age One of Chuck's important and early influences was his Grandfather Charles E. Barnett, a cartoonist/artist. Heavily influenced now by artist like George Inness and the ideology of the American Impressionist, Chuck Davis Paints the American Landscape in the way that captures the true beauty of the place and the moment.
Come by and see the works that are catching the attention of the US art world and making Chuck Davis a sought out painter for the avid art collectors collection.
