Theme The Art of Music
Work must relate to written, vocal or instrumental music, bands, musicians and/or musical instruments.
Specifications
Work must be created by the artist stated on the work.
Images must be appropriate for school age children.
Mediums accepted for submission are 2D art, found art, photography, painting, mixed media, drawing, digital art, ceramic, printmaking, clay, wood, fiber, paper and sculpture; no video, film, installation or performance art.
Size Limitations
Two dimensional works must be no larger than 4 in width or height and three dimensional works should not exceed 5H x 3D, and not have any potentially dangerous or hazardous parts. All two dimensional works must be able to be hung with our hanging system.(work must be wired in the back, holes will not be put into the walls to hang work)

Initial Jury
Cost of submissions
Current Sitar Students: Youth: Ages 10 15: Free up to three pieces (parents must sign entry form)
Sitar Member Adults and Volunteers: Ages 16 & over: $5 unlimited pieces
Non Sitar Members: Youth: Ages 10 15: $5 up to two pieces (parents must sign entry form)
Adults: Ages 16 & over $10 up to two pieces
Drop off dates: October 19 - 25, 2013
October 21, 24 & 25, 12:00pm 4:30 pm, October 22 & 23, 12:00 pm 7:00 pm and Saturday, October 19th, 12:00pm 3:00pm
All work must be accompanied by an entry form and entry fee
Work must be ready for hanging, mounted and/or framed, with wire or ½ wide hook on back in order to be hung with our hanging system(work not ready for hanging will be ineligible)
Jury Acceptance: Please note - All work may not be chosen
All work will be reviewed by the initial jury to determine entry into exhibit
Actual work MUST be delivered to Sitar Arts Center by the deadline to be considered
Initial jury is based on appropriate content, relation to theme and presentation
Work not chosen must be picked up by November 2, 2013
Pick up dates: October 29 & 30, 12:00 pm 7:00 pm, October 28 & November 1, 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm and Saturday November 2, 12:00 3:00 pm
Final Jury
All works on exhibit are eligible for the final jury. Work will be judged on a point based system by jurors Chakraphan (Tang) Rangaratna, Kristin Nagy, Susan Crawley; see juror biographies for more information.
Final jury will be in two categories: Category type is determined by age of participant when work is submitted
Youth: Ages 10 - 15
1st Prize $50
2nd Prize $25
Adult: Ages 16 and up
1st Prize $200, and solo exhibit at Sitar Arts Center
2nd Prize $100
Exhibition
Chosen works will be on exhibit from October 28 December 7, 2013
Work does not have to be for sale, but sale prices are encouraged
Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony: Friday November 8, 2013 at 6:30pm
