During the 1970s, the Army Corps of Engineers built the Blue marsh Dam, during which they dislocated and flooded a large number of farms, homes, and businesses.
Local photographic artists Andrew Williams, Bill Carner, and Nick Bowen documented some of these properties while this was going on.
Their photographs, along with some other historic material, will be the focus of an exhibit at the Freyberger Gallery on the campus of Penn State Berks Campus in Reading, PA. The exhibit is curated by Marilyn Fox and Steven Potteiger.
The exhibit will run from September 12 through October 31, 2013. The Freyberger Gallery\'s daily schedule and driving directions are available at the gallery\'s website: http://www.bk.psu.edu/information/community/freyberger.htm
