BALANCE: HERBERGER THEATER CENTER’S ART RECEPTION EXPRESSES THEME THROUGH ART, MUSIC, RHYTHM AND DANCE

Herberger Theater Art Gallery unveils Balance, featuring Arizona artists, curated by artist Heather J. Kirk, and selected by blind jury. On display January 10-March 3, 2014.

The public is invited to attend the free opening reception on Friday, January 10, 5:30-7:00PM. Meet the artists, enjoy beautiful visual art, and music by World Affiliated Soundz Incorporated (W.A.S. Inc.), and a no-host bar in Bob’s Spot Gallery Lounge.

The Art/Theme: “We all have an innate sense of balance. We straighten our ties and the pictures on the wall. In our daily lives we seek emotional balance that provides a state of equilibrium. In art, balance is the distribution of design elements to produce visual equilibrium.”

In addition to the Featured Artist Nina Pak, 23 other artist’s works (tagged below) will be on display, expressing the various forms of balance we all seek, and the imbalance we all have experienced.

Participating Cuban artist Chary Castro-Marin will be on hand to sign her art book, “The Colors of Life,” with text by Emilio Ichikawa Morin.

Live painting by Dump La Roc.

Music, poetry, and dance performances by \"World Affiliated Soundz and Moore\".

WAS, Inc., founded by SHAH D.I.G.A. & Asiatic Asia, believe \"Knowledge is Power!\" and their mission is to unite all ages, races and faces, and present to all a unified front of entertainers, musicians and dancers performing the art of the world, including Felicia Campos, the Cosby Kids, E-Moore, Kate Lin, and Uni-Q.

Break Dancing by E-Moore. The balance between music and dance weaves motion and rhythm into a Picasso-esque display of self-expression. A physical display of strength and detail jived into the very roots of Hip-Hop\'s essence. From a flip to a dive, a handstand, headstand, or no stand, the action of a b-boy summarize the mind of creativity and ingenuity by manipulating the body and bringing to life a mind-state set to defy all odds.

Particpating artists are: Nina Pak, Carol Alleman, Anne Allemann, Chary Castro-Marin, Kerstin Dale, Ann Drosendahl, Susan Hearn, Laura Cohen-Hogan, Erik Howle, Joshua Louchheim, Del Marinello, Louis Mendoza, Susan Norton-Scott, Alejandra Orozco, Nina M. Pak, Patricia Redding, AE Reiff, Julio Rodarte, Helen Norsigian Rowles, Lia Rusu, Tess Mosko Scherer, Stacie Schimke, Junjie Verzosa, Kim Walker and Amy Whitehouse.
