Townsend's paintings in oils have a way of reorganizing nature's table of life into powerful structures on canvas. He searches for special aspects in his environment; he calls these "some God-inspired creations so perfect in composition and design".

It brings Allan great joy to share the beauty of BC's scenery with his audience, and offer an opportunity for them to step with him outside an otherwise chaotic world into a moment of tranquility captured on the coast of British Columbia.
