Yisa Akinbolaji originally from Nigeria is as unconventional as the art he creates. Yisa who is based in St. Vital has developed a unique technique of painting, for which he was featured in and on the cover of Art Business News, New York in 2011. He has also been featured in Winnipeg Free Press, Ottawa Star, Style Manitoba, CTV, CBC, City TV, Christian Week and Global Eyes Magazine. While obtaining his Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the University of North Dakota, Yisa incorporated the technique into his printmaking projects and he graduated with distinction in 2009. Yisa's works are in private and public collections in Canada, USA, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Italy and United Kingdom. Yisa, a member of Manitoba Printmakers' Association and a past president of the Manitoba Society of Artists is currently serving on the board of Manitoba Art Council.
