LAB ART PRESENTS “AMERICANA” BY RANDOM ACT
A.K.A. ANDREA LAHUE
WHAT: LAB ART, the nation’s largest gallery dedicated to street art, will present AMERICANA, the premier solo exhibition of celebrated Los Angeles street artist Random Act a.k.a. Andrea LaHue at their gallery space on La Brea Avenue.
AMERICANA illuminates resonant themes of the American psyche. Random Act takes the audience on a dynamic journey across the United States through iconic images from our nation’s history. Juxtaposing images of Abraham Lincoln, Gil Scott-Heron and Woody Guthrie with their writings, maps, icons and images from her journey across the country, LaHue skillfully creates an entirely unique style that flows through the entire exhibition.
The special opening event on Thursday, December 13th will feature recitations by actors Kevin Will and Will Dixon of The Gettysburg Address written by Abraham Lincoln and The Revolution Will Not Be Televised written by Gil Scott-Heron, at 8pm and 9pm, respectively.
The evening will also feature music provided by DJ Ty and Buzz Can’t DJ.
